The Story

Theresa Fette didn’t set out to build a $12B business. She set out to solve a problem nobody else was solving well. That instinct — to find the gap, build the infrastructure, and create something institutional from what was still early-stage — has defined every company she has ever built.

She grew up in Arkansas, earned three degrees from the University of Arkansas including a law degree, and added a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

She started her career as a tax attorney. Then she founded Provident Trust Group.

Over ten years, she grew Provident from approximately $300M to $7.5B in assets under custody. The company appeared on the Inc. 500|5000 list seven consecutive years. Fortune Magazine named her one of the 10 Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs. She was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Las Vegas Review-Journal and to the Vegas Inc. 40 Under 40 list. In 2018, she sold.

While building Provident Trust Group, she simultaneously acquired a licensed broker-dealer from venture capitalist Tim Draper and launched it as a concurrent operation. Both regulated financial entities ran in parallel, under her ownership, during the same years. That experience — managing two distinct, compliant financial businesses at once — gave her a structural and operational fluency most founders never develop.

In 2021, she co-founded Retired.com alongside her partner and co-CEO scaling
custodial assets from $250M to over $12B through five M&A transactions in four years. She has since transitioned from the co-CEO role.

She also co-owns LED Connection, which she helped build from $0 to $15M in annual revenue over six years. LED Connection’s portfolio includes projects that have transformed the Las Vegas skyline.

Today, Theresa has served as a strategic advisor to 10+ companies. The pattern is consistent: organizations in her orbit tend to double or triple revenue within 24 months.

She is now building her second mountain. Nevada Tax Group is not a fifth company for its own sake, but a deliberate set of initiatives aimed at the places where her methodology can create the most impact: women and minority entrepreneurs, technology implementation for mid-market companies, teaching CEO’s how to be whole leaders, and helping companies engineer exit outcomes – optimizing valuation, deal terms and tax positioning.

The credential most operators don't have

Before Theresa built her first company, she built the legal foundation to do it right. She holds a Juris Doctorate and a Master of Laws in Taxation — and practiced as a licensed attorney with a specialty in estate planning, business structuring, and tax strategy for business owners. That isn't background. It's infrastructure she brings into every engagement.
